Biographical Details Professor Phil Evans
Professor Philip Evans BSc.Eng (Merit), ME (Hons), LLB, LGE Cert (NSW), PhD, Grad Cert Tert & Adult Ed, Cert IV Train. & Asses., FIE (Aust), FAIB, FAIM, FACICA, MIAMA Professor Phil Evans joined Murdoch University School of Law in July 2010. Prior to his professorial appointment he was an Adjunct Professor, Executive Director of the Western Australian Institute of Dispute Management (WAIDM) and a sessional lecturer in the School. He was formerly Head of the Graduate School of Law and later Associate Dean of the Notre Dame Australia School of Law. Prior to entering legal practice he was Head of the Department of Construction Management in the School of the Built Environment at Curtin University. After leaving Curtin University he joined the litigation section of a national law firm and later was principal of his own legal practice. Professor Evans is a graded arbitrator, accredited mediator and a registered adjudicator (WA and NT). His teaching and research interests include Trade Practices Law, Intellectual Property Law, Mediation, Commercial Arbitration and Construction Law. He has also coached teams in the Willem C Vis International Arbitration Moot, the International Maritime Arbitration Moot, and the Hong Kong ADR International Moot. He is also one of the three presenters in the WAIDM/Murdoch School of Law Professional Training in Arbitration Law and Practice program and has tutored in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Diploma in International Arbitration. Professor Evans is a regular presenter in the both the Murdoch Executive Education and Organizational Capability Unit programs in Contract Administration, Administrative Law and Dispute Resolution. Professor Evans has received a number of Vice Chancellors teaching commendations and was Dean of the Murdoch School of Law from January to December 2011. In 2006 and 2011 he was nominated for an Australian of the Year award for his contribution to tertiary education. In 2012 Professor Evans received the Murdoch Law Students Society Law Lecturer of the Year Award and in 2013 was the recipient of the Vice Chancellors Award for Teaching Innovation. On 1 July 2013 Professor Evans will join the new Curtin University Law School as Professor of Law.Why CMA

This certificate is accredited to exempt the holder from the Associate Membership/Full Member/Fellow Member* (ACIArb/MCIArb/FCIArb) examination of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
